The Lac La Ronge Indian Band is mourning the loss of its oldest resident.
Elder Jeannie Amelik Roberts passed away yesterday at the age of 110.
A resident of Stanley Mission, Roberts was known for her gentle nature and willingness to help anyone in need.
She was born in Trade Lake in 1903 and hunted, trapped and fished.
A wake service is scheduled for Sunday at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church and a funeral on Monday.
That will also be at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Stanley Mission.
