Officials with SaskPower expect a power outage in the northwest part of the province to be fixed by Monday afternoon.

The problems started Saturday evening when rain and lightning moved through the area and about 4,500 customers lost electricity.

SaskPower spokesperson Tyler Hopson says that situation was taken care of by early Sunday morning, but then more outages were reported.

This morning, there were about 1,000 customers without power in the Turnor Lake, La Loche, Clearwater River and Birch Narrows areas.

Repair crews were working on the Turnor Lake substation.

Anyone experiencing a power outage is asked to call SaskPower at 310-2220.
