Three young offenders from the Piapot First Nation have been charged in relation to ten of thousands of dollars worth of vandalism damage committed on the reserve over the last few months.
Between March and April, computers were destroyed, windows smashed and a van stolen from the Payepot School and Daycare.
Southey RCMP Corporal Conrad Logan says the various acts of vandalism have resulted in high replacement costs.
“Estimates to clean up the damage, from speaking to representatives at the Piapot First Nation and school, are well over $50,000,” he says. Estimates to clean up ducts in the school are $25,000.”
Three young offenders from Piapot between the ages of 12 and 14 have charged with various break and enter infractions and mischief both over and under $5,000.
