The search for a new chief adjudicator to oversee Indian residential school claims is on.
The position has been vacant since February when Daniel Ish stepped down.
Applicants must have a law degree, 15 years legal experience and a significant knowledge of Canadian Aboriginal people, their history and culture.
Chair of the oversight committee Mayo Moran says in a release that the independent assessment process was very fortunate to have someone as dedicated as Ish guide it through its first five years.
The chief adjudicator is chosen by an oversight committee consisting of former residential school students, churches and the federal government.
Deadline for applications is May 24 and a new chief adjudicator is expected to be in place by early summer.
