First Nations and Metis groups will reap the benefits of a profitable year for the Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation.

It had a profit of $52.6 million last year.

Half of that money will go to the First Nations Trust, community initiative funds and the Metis Development Fund.

The rest of the profits will go back to the government in the form of a dividend.

SaskGaming tabled its annual report in the Legislature this afternoon.

It operates Casino Regina and Casino Moose Jaw.

The Crown Corporation employs nearly 1,000 people — 41% of them Aboriginal.
