The Senator Allen Bird Memorial Gymnasium is full of laughter and music this week.

It’s the twenty-second year for the Prince Albert Grand Council’s Fine Arts Festival.

Over 1,700 kids and chaperones made it down for this year’s event from all 12 bands within the PAGC.

Lead organizer Shona Stapleton says everything from legend telling, line-dancing, singing and creative dance is being offered at the festival.

Stapleton has been on the organizing committee for the last 19 years.

She says the festival has become a landmark event for all involved.

“People expect it now,” she says. “ It’s not something that’s just a fly-by-night kind of thing where you only have one or two years and then it’s done. This is something that everyone waits for.”

Stapleton adds this may be her final year as head organizer.
