Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating an Aboriginal Regina man who has not been seen since June of last year.

Fred Kakakaway was last seen around 6 a.m. on June 14th in the 900-block area of Robinson Street.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black jacket, a blue baseball cap and riding a burgundy bike.

Kakakaway’s is described as 5’ 8” tall, 180 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and with a slight limp in his right leg.

Regina police spokesperson Elizabeth Popowich says Kakakaway was known to travel and could be in a number of places.

“His family members have also said it would not be unusual for Mr. Kakakaway to travel a bit, he had been known to hitchhike to Calgary, and family members have also recently told our investigators that they had a thought that he might even be in the Vancouver area,” she says.

Police do not believe he is the victim of a criminal offence but he does have a health condition that requires regular medication.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
