RCMP say their investigation will continue today into the events leading to an amber alert being issued for a 14-year-old Saskatchewan girl who is eight months pregnant.

The missing teenager was declared safe after she and her boyfriend were brought to police last night by his relatives.

Sergeant Paul Dawson says the 16-year-old boy is in police custody, though no charges have yet been laid. Dawson says neither teen required medical attention.

The alert was originally issued after the girl’s family alleged she had been forcibly taken from the family home in Maple Creek on Wednesday night.

The boy’s family says it was all a misunderstanding.
