RCMP and members of the Big Island Lake First Nation continuing searching today for a missing 65-year-old resident of the reserve.

Raymond Sandfly was last seen at around 10 a.m. yesterday at the band office and it is believed he may be traveling on foot or hitchhiking.

RCMP say Sandfly has been out of contact for more than 24 hours which is out of character for him.

Police and local residents conducted extensive searches for the Big Island Lake First Nation man throughout the night.

The RCMP also say Sandfly’s disappearance is not being considered suspicious as of yet.

He is described as five feet and nine inches, 210 pounds with shoulder-length grey hair. Sandfly was last seen wearing a brown jacket.
