Attawapiskat Chief Theresa Spence has signed a 13-point treaty rights declaration that ended her six-week hunger protest.
During a signing ceremony at an Ottawa hotel, Spence delivered a message to other First Nations leaders urging them to stick together.
Earlier, spokesman Danny Metatawabin praised Spence for pushing First Nations issues to the top of the national political agenda and taking a stand on behalf of all indigenous people demonstrating that they can and will persevere.
