An interim report by the Joint Task Force on Improving Education and Employment Outcomes for First Nations and Métis People was released in Saskatoon on Monday.
Some of the themes that emerge in Voice, Vision and Leadership include the need for the inclusion of language and culture in Aboriginal education, necessity of a long term funding vision, increased information sharing between various jurisdictions and increased funding in post-secondary education.
Chair Gary Merasty also noted the task force has tried to focus on what is working in Aboriginal education as well as what is not.
A final report will be released in late March, 2013.
