A provincial task force aimed at getting more Aboriginal people working in Saskatchewan is coming to the La Ronge area next week.

On Tuesday, it will be at Gordon Denny Community School in Air Ronge.

It is gathering information on education and employment successes to take back to government.

Task force chair Gary Merasty says they are trying to figure out the nuts and bolts of what makes successful employment and education opportunities:

“There’s been a lot of debate and discussion in the media about First Nations education, Metis education.  And the one thing that seems to get overlooked is that there are everyday heroes in these communities — working with children, working with learners — that are making a difference every day.  And it is just amazing and it’s very inspiring.”

Early childhood development, post-secondary and K-to-12 schooling and labour force attachment are some of the main areas of focus.
