One final push is being made to get residential school survivors the money that may be owed to them.

Tonight is the deadline to file claims for the Common Experience Payment as well as the Independent Assessment Process.

Forms should be available at most band offices and can be downloaded off FSIN.com

The Federation’s Jaye Cameron says survivors can start the process by simply filling in sections 1,2 and 8 of the form and mailing it in:

“Yes,  yeah that’s the only portion that doesn’t require them to have a lawyer and they don’t need to retain a lawyer at this point.”

She adds the remaining sections can be filled out once the survivor has gotten some legal counsel.
