The Clarence Campeau Development Fund has rolled out a new initiative for Youth and Women.

Metis youth, aged 18-to-35, and Metis women who want to become entrepreneurs are invited to apply for a new equity grant.

Monica Brunet is the economic development coordinator for the Fund.

She says they’ll be looking to assist home-based or smaller type projects:

“CCDF is looking at providing assistance of up to 65 percent of the project costs to a maximum of $10,000.  So we’re really gearing this to smaller projects.  They could be considered micro-projects.”

She hopes the measures will assist Metis entrepreneurs in overcoming barriers and help them to secure future financing.
