The list of people needing affordable housing lin La Loche has been trimmed slightly.

Last week, it was announced that rental housing for eight families has been completed.

They are eight two-bedroom units built as four, semi-detached buildings.

The provincial government’s Saskatchewan Housing Corporation paid the whole cost of the project — about $1.23 million.

La Loche Mayor Georgina Jolibois says, unfortunately, it will only make a tiny difference:

“I’d like to say it is making a dent — however, it isn’t.  We have such a high, high wait list for all.”

Jolibois says the list of people needing housing in the community has more than 400 names.
