A Poundmaker First Nation man facing charges after a fatal accident accident last week will be back in court next month.

Twenty-nine-year-old Robert Wilfred Badger appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court today.

Badger faces five charges that include dangerous driving causing death and impaired driving causing death.

He remains in custody.

A 26-year-old Poundmaker man died Thursday night after a car flipped into a slough off Highway 40, about 30 kilometres west of the Battlefords.

An RCMP officer attempted to save the victim’s life by diving into the slough and removing the man from the vehicle — but he wasn’t able to prevent him from dying.
