A 19-year-old La Ronge woman who stabbed herself in the leg early this morning and then disappeared has been located safe and sound.

The La Ronge RCMP were first notified of the incident just before 3:30 a.m.

She left the scene before the Mounties arrived — and there was concern for her well-being, because she did not report to the local health centre.

A police dog team was called in from Saskatoon and a ground search was about to be organized when she was found at a local residence just before noon today.

She has since been taken to the health centre and is expected to recover from her injuries.
