One woman is dead after an ATV accident over the weekend near a lake in northwest Saskatchewan.

RCMP say an ATV was driving in the oncoming lane on the Keeley Lake Lodge Road to avoid dust from another ATV it was following when it collided with a minivan at the top of a hill along a curve.

Two people were on the ATV at the time — a 22-year-old male driver and his 21-year-old female passenger.

The man only sustained minor injuries, while the woman died on scene.

Driver inexperience is believed to be the cause of the crash.

A full investigation is still underway.
