A Pelican Lake First Nation youth charged with murder in the death of his cousin has been released from custody.

That decision was made during a Battleford Court of Queen’s Bench hearing today.

Eighteen-year-old Jay Lyndon Thomas is accused of second-degree murder in the death of 23-year-old Robi Davis Thomas.

The suspect was released on several conditions, and is scheduled to appear in a Spiritwood court later this month.

RCMP found Robi Thomas dead in a field on the reserve Saturday morning.

It is alleged he died as a result of an argument and subsequent fight during a graduation party.
