A man from the Muskowekwan First Nation will be going to trial in Court of Queen’s Bench to face a charge of first-degree murder.

Everett Tirrel Bruce was 18 years old when he was arrested in connection with the death of 81-year-old William Pambrun.

Punnichy RCMP were called to a home on the reserve in July 2010 after family members found the elderly man’s body.

The cause of death was not released, and Bruce was later arrested and charged with murder.

A preliminary hearing was held last week in Wynyard.

The date for the trial has not been set.
