A man wanted for murder has been arrested on the Witchekan Lake First Nation.

Twenty-one-year-old Eddie Binning is wanted on a charge of second-degree murder in connection with the death of a man in Edmonton.

Sgt. Darren Harrison of the Spiritwood RCMP says Binning contacted them when he learned a warrant had been issued for his arrest:

“Mr. Binning saw that he was subject to a warrant out of Edmonton and contacted our office requesting to turn himself in, so our members attended his residence and arrested him without incident.”

He says Binning will now be transported back to Alberta.
