In about three years, a mobile unit could be on the road in the province’s north to help fight cancer.

Cameco, the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, and Saskatchewan Roughriders head coach Corey Chamblin announced the program on Thursday.

The mobile unit will tour the north, screening women for breast cancer and educating youth about the disease.

Chamblin says the Riders are involved because his wife deals with cancer in her job.

Every spring, a fundraiser will be held to raise money for the van.

The first gala was held last night in Saskatoon.
