The founder of a firm looking to develop oil sands in northwest Saskatchewan is cutting ties with the company.
Oilsands Quest has announced that Christopher Hopkins has resigned from its board of directors.
At one time, Hopkins was the company’s CEO — but he stepped down from that post in 2010.
Oilsands Quest has been looking for oil north of La Loche since 2004, but recently stepped back its efforts due to a lack of available resources.
The company says Hopkins stepped down for personal reasons.
He is still one of the firm’s shareholders.
