The chief of the Key First Nation will be going to trial in Court of Queen’s Bench on drug charges.
So far, no trial date has been set for 58-year-old Clarence Papequash, who will face trial by judge alone.
He was among 24 people charged in January 2011 after a six-month RCMP investigation into the trafficking of prescription narcotics in the Yorkton and Kamsack areas.
In February 2011, band councillor Gerald Papequash was sentenced to 16 months in jail after pleading guilty to several charges.
They included identity theft, identity fraud, double doctoring, possession for the purpose of trafficking and breach of an undertaking.
