Strong winds Wednesday were a factor in a fire which destroyed a home at Wadin Bay, north of La Ronge.
The fire quickly engulfed the entire wood structure, but everyone inside escaped without injury.
La Ronge Fire Chief Ron Pratt says the owner was using a back-up generator because of the resulting power outage in the area.
Pratt says, because of the strong wind, it also didn’t take long for the fire to go through the entire house.
The area was receiving winds in the 60 – 70 km/h range at the time.
Pratt says it is believed a hot muffler on the generator sparked the blaze.
