New North is lending its voice to a campaign designed to get a second bridge built in Prince Albert.

New North chair Bruce Fidler says in a release that a second bridge could offer a safe alternate route to the north and his organization considers it a top priority.

He adds the northern municipal lobby group will be asking its municipalities to pass resolutions to support the cause and to write letters of support.

Those messages will then be sent on to Premier Brad Wall and his cabinet.

The campaign began last week.

The objective is to get the province to designate a second bridge as a priority.
