It was a sale to remember for North American Fur Auctions.

Company spokesman Dave Bewick says every variety of pelt performed well in his group’s wild fur sale this past week — most notably, the wild mink and beaver.

In fact, Bewick says some types of beaver pelts sold for double the price they fetched just a year ago.

Bewick says there was good demand for heavier trimming pelts, and they sold virtually every pelt they had:

“It’s hard to . . . I mean, we’re just in disbelief right now.  I mean it’s hard to believe that we came through a sale like this without any article, really, taking a hit.”

He encourages trappers to send in lots of pelts for the sale in May.
