The One Arrow First Nation is adopting a program aimed at helping bands cut through government red tape.

The First Nations Land Management Regime allows bands to manage their land, resources and environment under their own land code.

It effectively eliminates 34 clauses found in the Indian Act.

A number of other bands in the province have already joined the program.

They include Muskoday, Kinistin Saulteaux, Muskeg Lake, Whitecap Dakota and Kahkewistahaw.
