A former Gold Eagle Casino dealer charged with cheating has been given a chance to avoid jail.

On Wednesday, Crown Prosecutor Mitch Piche called on Christopher Stone-Spyglass to come up with $12,600 in restitution.

Stone-Spyglass has until mid April to do so, or possibly do jail time.

His lawyer, Randy Kirkham, called for a conditional sentence order.

Piche says Stone-Spyglass may be able to avoid jail if he can come up with a good portion of that cash.

Late last year, Stone-Spyglass pleaded guilty to theft under $5,000. The offences took place in North Battleford between August, 2008 and January, 2009.
