Two people from Wollaston Lake are safe after getting lost and then being found by members of the Canadian Rangers.

RCMP say a 51-year-old man and his 18-year-old son lost their way Wednesday afternoon after snowmobiling across the lake from Barge Landing.

Police say the two are relatively new to the area and their snowmobile tracks had blown over.

They found shelter in a camp and fortunately were able to contact police by cell phone.

A local searcher was unable to find them, so around a group of six Rangers were sent out at around 6:30 p.m.

Mounties say the weather was deteriorating, but the Rangers found the two men.

The group made it back to the detachment around 9:30 p.m.
