A Grade 10 student at Balcarres High School is one of two people selected as a Canadian First Nations youth delegate to a United Nations gathering in Geneva, Switzerland.
Colin Starblanket was chosen through an essay-writing competition organized by the First Nations Child and Family Caring Society of Canada.
Starblanket says the entrants had to write about child welfare, health and education.
He says he has about two months to raise funds and prepare for the trip.
Starblanket will make a presentation to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child in February.
