The Lac La Ronge Indian Band community plan is almost ready for residents to see.

Community planner Ross Soward says it should be rolled out during a presentation in February.

Soward is a community planner at Dalhousie University in Halifax.

He has been working on the project with others for about 18 months.

Soward says the plan involves more than just where houses and businesses will be located, although that’s part of it.

He says it integrates physical components such as land use, infrastructure and important natural resources with social considerations — including necessary community programming and gathering places that are important to the community.

Soward says the plan has been approved by the chief and council, and it’s now being published into a booklet.
