The Sweetgrass First Nation has a new chief.
Lorie Whitecalfe was elected chief during band elections on Monday, according to band officials.
She defeated three other challengers.
Former chief Wayne Standinghorn declined to run again.
The band’s councillors are former chief Tommy Whitecalfe, Eldon Atcheynum, Darius Albert, Omer White, Chris Albert and Eileen Pooyak.
