RCMP say an investigation into an apparent hunting accident near Meadow Lake should be wrapped up today or tomorrow.

Police, ambulance and conservation officers were called to the scene — about 65 kilometres south of Meadow Lake near the Moose Country Lodge — at about 6:00 Thursday night.

Cpl. Kim Gobeil says it appears an American hunter accidentally shot a guide in the hand and abdomen.

According to the RCMP, the guide was opening the zippered blind when the gun went off.

Gobeil says the victim is listed in stable condition at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.
