The new First Nations pavilion held a ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning at the Canadian Western Agribition in Regina.

Drums and dancers, flute players and prayers all celebrated the very first time First Nations culture has had a place at the annual agricultural event.

Elmer Eashappie says this is a great cross-cultural opportunity, as well as a chance to promote that First Nations are actively involved in ranching and farming operations.

The pavilion has craft tables, First Nations language lessons, teepees and treaty quizzes.

Agribition hosts more than 130,000 people annually.
