A Sandy Bay man is facing a charge of attempted murder following a stabbing in the community this past weekend.

The RCMP say a 53-year-old man was stabbed several times at around 8 p.m. Sunday.

The victim was taken to the local clinic and then the Flin Flon hospital — and at last word, was in stable condition.

The suspect, 31-year-old Eli John Durocher, also faces a charge of aggravated assault.

He remains in custody.

The RCMP’s Saskatoon-based Major Crimes Unit is helping to investigate.
