North Battleford’s Gold Eagle Lodge is one of three finalists for a Canadian Tourism Award.

The lodge is owned by the Battlefords Tribal Council and is a finalist in the human resources category against the Westin Ottawa and White Point Beach Resort in Nova Scotia.

General Manager Malcolm Anderson says at least half their staff is Aboriginal — mostly women — and he has been impressed with their work ethic and their desire to learn.

Anderson says the women have done so well, that now, more men want to work there.

The award will be announced November 24th in Ottawa.
