The English River First Nation has elected a former chief to once again lead the band.
Alfred Dawatsare, who was last chief in 2003, defeated two other candidates in yesterday’s band election.
He takes over from Ralph Paul, who decided against running for another term.
Marie Black received the most votes in the band council election.
She’s joined on council by Michael Wolverine, Archie Campbell, Gloria Apesis, Bernadette Eaglechild and Frankie Campbell.
