There is now an SGI vehicle licence issuer in Stony Rapids.
Until now, the closest licence issuer was more than 650 km away in La Ronge.
SGI says Scott’s General Store will also offer vehicle registration services.
The photo ID driver’s licence exemption for people living in remote northern locations expires at the end of December.
SGI visited Wollaston Lake, Black Lake, Fond du Lac, Stony Rapids and Uranium City in May to provide photo ID and other driver licensing services.
Another visit is planned for October.
