A Chinese immigrant has been punished for cheating at North Battleford’s Gold Eagle Casino, but he won’t be going to jail.

On Monday, Jim Zhuang pleaded guilty to theft under $5,000 in North Battleford Provincial Court.

Judge David Kaiser gave Zhuang a conditional discharge and five months probation. If he completes the probation, he won’t have a criminal record.

Zhuang must also pay back $1,500 he won at the casino.

He is also banned from entering any SIGA-owned or operated casino.

The Crown says the cheating occurred between October 2008, and January, 2009.
