Healthy Moose Hunt Expected This Fall

Officials with Saskatchewan Environment say another good moose harvest could be on the way across the province.

Wildlife Biologist Rob Tether says the moose population remained healthy through last winter and numbers are strong in all regions.

Tether says the above-average precipitation in the province is not expected to have an adverse affect on moose, since they like the high water levels — but hunters may have trouble accessing some areas.

He says numbers in the southern part of the province continue to grow and most zones have a hunting season for moose.
