The Chairman of the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority’s board says the first order of business at the next meeting will be to reduce board expenditures.

Kirk Goodtrack says that issue has been openly discussed at the board, although earlier this week, Vice-Chair Edward Henderson claimed Goodtrack had never raised the issue at the board level but rather through the media.

Goodtrack says he plans to reduce the number of board meetings, the number of committees as well as the amounts spent on retainers, per diems and other expenditures.

Henderson pegged the next board meeting at the end of this month, but Goodtrack says it isn’t until the end of October, with a committee meeting happening the week after Assembly.

Goodtrack was reinstated as board chair by a Queen’s Bench ruling that noted the board did not have the authority to remove the chair.
