Former students of the Timber Bay Children’s Home attended a meeting yesterday hosted by the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.

Lawyers for Elders Without Borders are working to have the school added to the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement.

Lawyer Michael Swinwood says a similar case in Ontario recently received a favourable ruling and could set a precedent.

Swinwood says more documents in the Timber Bay case will be prepared this fall, and a decision by a Saskatchewan Court of Queen’s Bench justice could be made by February.
