Arrest Made In La Ronge Murder

RCMP have arrested a 21 year-old La Ronge man on charges of First degree murder.

 

Jimmy David Douglas Ross is accused of killing 23 year-old Jason Charles, who is also from the band.

 

It was around noon on Sunday when officers were called to a report of an unconscious male in a residence on the reserve.

 

When officers got there it was apparent to them the man was in fact – deceased.

 

Later that night officers went to arrest Ross who allegedly tried to get away from them.

 

RCMP Sergeant Paul Dawson says Ross was eventually arrested and has already made his first court appearance.

 

Dawson adds an autopsy is scheduled for today.

 

In addition to the charge of first-degree murder Ross is also charged with 2 counts of failing to comply with a recognizance and 2 counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.
