The president of Golden Band Resources says he has no idea when a northern gold mill that was the scene of an accident will re-open.
Operations at the Jolu mill near Brabant Lake have been temporarily suspended after a contract worker was pinned by rock for nine hours yesterday.
Company vice-president Rodney Orr says the 61-year-old welder from Carrot River wasn’t hurt, but had to essentially dig himself out because of the close confines.
Orr says Rocky Arsenault was working in a chute that receives broken rock before it is sent to the mill’s crusher.
The worker spent the night at the La Ronge health centre for observation, but has since been released.
