Metis Communities Sign Unique Business Agreement

Four northern Metis communities have signed an agreement that is the first of its kind in Canada.

Beauval, Cole Bay, Ile-a-la-Crosse and Jans Bay have signed the Primrose Resources Corporation.

With the help of Westcap Management and its BRIDG program, Westcap Manager Vern Bachiu says the four communities will work together to create businesses and wealth for the 2,600 people in the region.

Ile-a-la-Crosse Mayor Duane Favel says the four leaders hope that by working together, they’ll have more clout.

The PRC plans to pursue partnerships in the oil, gas and mining sectors as well as look into green projects such as biomass energy and heating.
