Mayors Get Update About Rules For Gaming Dollars

Questions over how northern municipalities can spend gaming dollars were raised this morning at a meeting in Prince Albert.

Northern mayors have gathered to discuss a number of issues at their annual roundtable.

An official from liquor and gaming was on hand to discuss ways villages and towns can access money for projects.

Ile-a-la-Crosse mayor Dwayne Favel says the talk was refreshing.

He notes it can be difficult at times to access gaming money because of red tape.

Creighton mayor Bruce Fidler was also glad for the update.

He says there are more regulations for communities to deal with these days and they need to pay for them somehow.

The mayors will continue meeting throughout the afternoon, tomorrow they’ll be joined by government ministers.
