Man Suspected in Murder Case Released

The man charged with second-degree murder after a stabbing in Stanley Mission has been released from custody.

Thirty-year-old James Michael Cook was arrested after the death of 26-year-old Frederick Thomas McKenzie.

McKenzie’s body was found on a street in Stanley Mission on August 3rd.

He was taken to the local health clinic where he was pronounced dead.

Cook was released yesterday following a bail hearing in Prince Albert.

He is scheduled to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on September 26th.
