A First Nation in southern Saskatchewan is hosting a gathering for those who were taken from foster homes in the 60’s and 70’s and adopted out to families as far away as Europe.

Linda Thaler of Ontario is the organizer for the Canada 60’s and 70’s Scoop Gathering being held this weekend on the Kahkwistahaw First Nation near Broadview.

Thaler says she’s helped many adults to come home who either did not have the resources or were unaware of the consequences, like being deported.

Thaler says she was raised in the United States and her own family origins are from Saskatchewan.

She says she will be meeting relatives for the first time.
