An inquest is underway in Regina this week looking into the death of a three year old child who died while in foster care in December 2009.
A publication ban prevents the naming of the child, his parents or the foster family.
A six person jury heard the testimony of the foster mother this afternoon.
They heard the child had been placed with the family in Pense the summer of 2009.
The foster mother became tearful as she described the morning of December 17th when she found the normally awake toddler lying still and cold in his crib.
Testimony from the EMS earlier in the day said how they received a 911 call around 8:30 a.m. about a child who was deceased.
Upon arrival, they were met by “obviously grieving (foster) parents.”
The EMS person said she checked on the child to find that rigor mortis was already setting in.
